Footballher began with one father's mission to ensure his daughter felt confident and included when participating in football. This journey started back in 2022, during the Women's Euros. While shopping on Oxford Street for football clothing for his daughter, Connor, the founder of Footballher, visited numerous major retailers. He found nothing suitable for her in terms of fit, style, and colour.
Disappointed that the only available options were unisex or boys’ designs, he resolved to ensure his daughter, and all women and girls, never felt excluded from football due to a lack of appropriate clothing.
By 2024, that vision had become a reality. The brand has quickly gained a large following on social media, with thousands of people sharing similar experiences and seeking a solution.
Product launches have sold out rapidly. With their summer training collection scheduled for release in June, this inspiring brand has a promising future. They are building a reputation for nurturing an inclusive community where every individual can bring their best self and unique talents to the field.
Social media momentum has been a key factor in Footballer’s growth. However, this growth has presented operational challenges in scaling the business, particularly when catering to an international audience so early on. Footballher has customers in 25 countries and initially relied on a single carrier for deliveries.
While this single-carrier solution worked for a small volume of orders, it soon became problematic.
Parcels were being sent without tracking, both domestically and internationally. This resulted in delivery times of 3 - 5 days for UK orders and up to 28 days for international orders. Consequently, the number of "where is my order?" enquiries from eager customers increased.
Additionally, staff had to take multiple sacks to the drop-off point each day with large numbers of parcels. This was not only inconvenient but also meant an earlier dispatch cut-off time.
